This series of machining centers is distinguished by its high dynamics and precision. They are mainly used for sophisticated machining tasks in serial production, tool-, mold- and die-making, prototype construction and in the aerospace industry. Assembled, ready-to-install cable carrier systems from igus® are used as an economical and technically suitable solution to supply power to the machine spindles.
Pre-harnessed cable carriers
The company responsible for these machining centers is well-known as a market leader in high performance metalworking machines. One of its newer machines is a gantry system with high accuracy (Tp=0.007) and fast machining speeds. Pre-assembled ReadyChain® cables and cable carriers from igus were used for the first time in this machine to help cut installation times short and prolong service life. Installation time is an important factor, because speed gives the company its competitive edge. Other suppliers have much longer delivery times.
The Chainflex® continuous-flex cables used were specially developed for cable carrier applications. They allow small bending radii and distinguish themselves with a long service life despite the stress of continuous movement.
