HAWA AG stands for innovative and high-quality sliding solutions for interior and exterior applications. A wealth of ideas was also required in the development of the HAWA-Frontego 30/matic hardware system. The electric sliding window shutters for protecting entire window fronts from sunlight are not only motorised and therefore automated. The special feature is the motor, which is not installed statically but runs with the movement of the façade system. The cables for the power supply and motor control are pulled behind the motor and must therefore be routed. Common requirements for electric sliding shutters, such as almost silent and smooth movement and reliable operation at all times, must therefore also be fulfilled by the guide system for the power cables. Equally important: the energy supply system must be compact, whereby a small bend radius of the cables was also relevant, as well as absolutely insensitive to external weather influences.

Numerous tests were carried out with sliding contacts and spiral cables for energy and signal transmission, but these did not lead to the desired success. In discussions with HAWA, we were finally able to offer our E2 series energy chain systems, which, thanks to tribologically optimized plastic material, not only allowed for lightweight energy guidance, but also enabled a durable and maintenance-free system. As the drive is visually disguised and concealed in the rail, all components should function smoothly and avoid cumbersome maintenance. The E2 energy chains for the small and medium load range allow compact designs with tight bend radii thanks to their small dimensions. The movements are quiet and reliable.
