In this forklift, the lifting mechanism failed because the bronze bearings were clogged with dirt. Constant maintenance was also required because the bearings had to be lubricated. Ever since the bronze bearings were replaced with iglide® G300 plain bearings from igus®, the forklift has been operating without any problems. Since the iglide® bearings are also self-lubricating, the maintenance-related downtimes have been reduced as well.
